Manhattan Clam Chowder- is one
of the TWO clam chowders that
contain tomato.
Add 1/2 green pepper, diced and 1/2 cup diced celery when browning the
onion. Add Clamato juice instead of milk. Heat only to boiling point, before
serving.
Rhode Island Clam Chowder- This
one also contains tomatoes. Although neither of these two soups
originated in the United States, unfortunately, these have become the accepted
names for them both.
Omit milk and add 1 cup tomatoes instead.
Crackers may be omitted.
